Mississippi River Distilling Queen Bee Honey Whiskey

Seasonal No. 4 is Queen Bee Honey Flavored Whiskey. 6000 bottle produced from fresh clover honey from beekeepers near Preston, Iowa in Jackson County just 30 miles from the distillery. The honey was boiled slowly which forms a waxy foam on top. That is the organic waxes produced by the bees that would make the whiskey cloudy if it was left it in. Next they carefully skim that foam off the top until they get it all out. Then the honey is added to an aged corn whiskey. After blending they slowly filter the whole batch to make sure the whiskey stays clear. Then it's into the bottle! There are several honey whiskey products on the market. But if you look closely at the labels, they are actually labeled as liqueurs because so much sugar is added. Queen Bee is nothing more than whiskey with pure, natural, local honey added.
